In this program, your students will learn how to recognize the correct maple trees, how to collect sap, and learn what the ideal weather conditions are for optimum sap flow. They will watch a demonstration on the boiling process and see how sap is made into syrup. Finally, each student will get to help make maple sugar candies to take home with them.

Our hands on activities encourage the students’ participation. This is important to children because they develop observation skills that they can use in all areas of their lives. This experience also helps students to develop respect for and an understanding of nature.

This class is great for all age groups and will be altered according to the students’ age.

The trip will be approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours long.  Please call and reserve the date you want by January 1st, 2009! (Classes offered Monday-Friday throughout the month of March.)
